Four-month Social Responsibility programme kicks off in Maldives 

Male: The Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) commitment to strengthen social development through football was further underlined today with the launch of the Health and First Aid Programme in the Maldives, which marks the first in a series of activities organised as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the AFC and the Football Association of Maldives. 

More than 40 coaches, social and community workers as well as teachers participated in the one-day course in the country’s capital in Male, which covered basic first aid training topics comprising practical demonstrations of child and adult life saving techniques, emergency response and injury management.

Doha: Youth ambassadors from ‘eGoal’, an AFC-Aurora Virtual Responsibility Programme, shared their unique experiences at the Generation Amazing Festival 2020 of how the groundbreaking project gathered youths from across Asia to connect virtually to discuss on important issues and to learn how to reach out to communities.

The three-day festival, organised by Generation Amazing, promoted football for good through a variety of workshops under the theme ‘Connectedness’ which aimed to gather youths online during this challenging period.

Palestine FA distributes ultra-durable balls to the GFCC

Al Ram: Students from the Jericho province can now play football with new One World Play Project ultra-durable balls after the AFC Dream Asia Foundation donated 10 balls to the Palestine Football Association (PFA).

More than 100 students from five schools, comprising mostly girls, will benefit from the initiative and enjoy playing the sport with the ultra-durable balls which is suitable on concrete playing fields or soil playgrounds.

Kuala Lumpur: The landmark AFC-FIFA Safeguarding Orientation Webinar has successfully concluded after more than 100 participants from 46 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Member Associations as well as all five AFC Regional Associations (RA) joined the online programme.

The virtual webinar was staged in a four-part series where key speakers Kathryn Leslie, FIFA's Head of Safeguarding and Child Protection and Gloria Viseras, FIFA Senior Event Safeguarding Manager, shared their insights into the FIFA Guardians™ programme and toolkit launched by the world governing body in July last year.

Youth Ambassadors eager to create impact after landmark eGoal programme

Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and Aurora for Training and Development’s ground-breaking eGoal project, which engaged 83 Youth Social Responsibility Ambassadors from 42 Member Associations from across all five AFC Zones, drew praise from the participants in a virtual Awards Ceremony on Thursday.

Over the past two months, participants were given the unique opportunity to glean insights by some of the world’s leading guest speakers from the most reputable non-government organisations (NGOs) and will now continue their journey by engaging and inspiring fellow players by establishing a network to support development post COVID-19.

The first-of-its-kind webinar will engage more than 100 participants from 46 AFC Member Associations (MA) as well as the five AFC Regional Associations (RA), with the aim of widening the essential understanding on the importance, application, and delivery of safeguarding in football, while increasing awareness of the pivotal role of MAs in ensuring a safe and secure environment for children and young people.

South and Central Zone youth ambassadors complete e-Goal social responsibility programme

Kuala Lumpur: The AFC-AURORA e-Goal programme marked a significant milestone today as 25 hopefuls from 12 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Member Associations (MA) in the South and Central Zones completed the first phase of the landmark series.

The conclusion sees the programme, which was organised by Aurora for Training and Development and the AFC to strengthen youth development through coaching and mentoring for young ambassadors, reach all five of the AFC Zones.
